Today we celebrate the  “Laskiaissunnuntai” ( Shrove Sunday…) sun, an awful cold wind.. our “pulks” and a great event organized by the Lions Club and the firemen of Loviisa… Coffee, juice, sausages, pancakes….

In Porvoo…. Ummmm!!!

When I go  Porvoo I like to visit the “Small Chocolate factory”, Pieni Suklaa Tehdas (Lilla Chokladfabriken, in Swedish) and …   Anton & Anton a  nice store selling delicious, fresh, organic  and local food.

And I love to have a coffe at  Café Helmi or Café Cabriolé that is also one of the best confectionery places in the area.

I finish  my post today with a couple of  recipes  Chocolate Biscotti from  David Lebovitz blog and Banana,hazelnut and cocoa muffins from a really inspiring blog: La Tartine Gourmandehere my muffins…Ummm!!

Cooking, The Christmas Eve dinner

I´m going to have just the traditional Finnish menu for dinner at  the Christmas Eve : Ham (Joulukinkku) with mustard, casseroles, marinated salmonChristmas pastries (Joulutortut) …Ginger cookies (Joulupiparit)

But I´m also preparing this, (with the “salmon caviar” in the jars below) that is simple and just perfect as starter…

And I hope that Santa comes with lots of gifts….

Next weekend it is open again.. as well as the house of the owners that is one of the “Christmas houses of Loviisa” , Wanhan Ajan Joulukodit Loviisassa.  This Christmas the decoration is not only the good taste of  Olga ( the owner) but the unique touch and some designs of Mirja Backmansson…
